Prison Ministry

Since March 2011, Nairobi Chapel started Prisons Ministry as part of its community outreach initiatives. We adopted Jamuhuri Short Term Prisons which currently holds only male inmates most of whom are serving short-term sentences not exceeding three years.

As Prisons ministry we equip the inmates and prisons staff to do the work of ministry. Working together with the Government, we help rehabilitate the inmates and also minister to the staff. This is achieved as we hold and facilitate Sunday services, weekly discipleship classes, and skills training.

Beyond the weekly services and discipleship at the prison, we actively offer pastoral care to the inmate’s families and also actively help the ex-inmates reintegrate back into their community. Our main agenda in our daily engagements is evangelism. We aim to introduce Jesus Christ to as many as will pass through the prisons.

Sports Ministry

The major aim of sports ministry is to disciple, mentor, and raise talents through sports. We use sports as a platform to reach out and evangelize to our immediate community. We are keen to raise up sports men and women who know God and will, in turn, spread the gospel in their area of influence.

We currently run a football team and hold weekly football clinics, discipleship, and training sessions. On the leadership aspect of sports, we train the sports ministry teams on best practices for leading teams, sports events planning, personal and group financial management, and discipleship in sports.

We are currently participating in the Federation of Kenya Football League and also the Church League as a means to offer the players a platform to grow in their sports career and also reach out to a wider community in the sports sector.

Community Outreach

Our main goal as a ministry within the church is building bridges in our local community, creating a link between the church and the community, and building partnerships within the community to evangelize and care for the most vulnerable.

We bring together leaders from different sectors of the community as we partner with them to develop the community through projects like medical camps and clean-ups. Through our Hands of Compassion, we aim to be a blessing and minister through service to the homes that surround the church.

Mission

We aim to reach out through evangelistic events, short and long-term missions. Our purpose is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth. Through all available platforms, we reach out to high schools, households, and different sectors of society through mass evangelism and one-on-one evangelism.

Within high school setups, we facilitate leadership training, missions, weekend challenges, Sunday services, and high school rallies. We walk with students and minister to them during the four years they are in high school.
